Gaelic Nova Scotia Month

The Power of our Songs

May is Gaelic Nova Scotia Month.  In the Gaelic calendar, May month is the beginning of the summer season.

As Gaels are a Nova Scotia people with a richness of cultural expression: poetry, song, music, dance, stories, foodways, lineages, spirituality and customs, many Nova Scotians have connections to Gaelic heritage.

To honour this year’s theme, The Power of our Songs, you are invited to take photos or videos of any gatherings small or big that you have among friends or with an organization in your community where Gaelic community members gather and Gaelic song is shared.

Stories can be shared on Twitter #BrighnaBardachd #GaelicNS #GaelicMonth #Gaidhlig #Gaelic or through Facebook .

Thank you and enjoy Gaelic Nova Scotia Month!
